The Returning Home Society is led by an Elders Advisory Council who provides direction to a team consisting of descendants of survivors of the Beauval Indian Residential School. Each team member brings a personal connection to this history, through their parents, grandparents, and extended family who attended the school. This lived legacy is at the heart of everything we do.
Our team’s deep roots in the community and shared experience with the impacts of residential schools give us a unique and profound perspective. We carry forward stories, truths, and teachings passed down through generations. This connection fuels our commitment to healing, cultural revitalization, and truth-telling.
We serve with understanding, respect, knowledge, and humility. Many of us have walked our own paths of healing and learning, and we bring that strength to our work. We listen deeply, act with intention, and honor the voices of Survivors and Elders who guide us. Our work is not just professional; it is personal and generational.
Together, we are committed to creating safe, supportive spaces for remembrance, restoration, and reconnection. We believe in the power of community and the resilience of our people, which defines our Indigenous identity. Whether facilitating community gatherings, offering wellness programs, or preserving history through stories and archives, our team leads with heart and purpose.
We are more than a team, we are family, community, and descendants of truth-bearers. It is our honor and responsibility to carry this work forward, for those who came before us, for those here now, and for the generations yet to come.
Our Team.
